‘Grindcore Karaoke Bar’
Sekitani en Maruosa zijn special guests van GOGBOT 2011. Breakcore/ grindcore muzikant Maruosa maakt snoeiharde speedcore/metal/terror muziek met geschreeuwde vocalen. Even confronterend is het werk van videomaker en ontwerper Sekintani, die de waanzin van de Westerse maatschappij blootlegt met zijn beeldende werk. Hij maakte diverse clips voor Maruosa. Beiden verwijzen naar rampen in de Japanse geschiedenis: Hiroshima, en recent, Fukushima. Hun werk visualiseert een maatschappij in de greep van data panic.
Op de Oude Markt komen speciaal voor GOGBOT ontworpen billboards van Sekitani en wordt een Grindcore Karaoke Bar geplaatst. Sekintani en Maruosa zijn te zien en te horen tijdens de openingsavond én sluiten de vrijdag af met een set audiovisueel terreur in Atak, een show die de twee voor deze gelegenheid hebben ontwikkeld.

Just as confrontational is the work of video maker and designer Sekintani, who unveils the madness of Western society in his illustrative art. He made several videos for Maruosa. Both artists regularly point to disasters in Japan’s history: Hiroshima, and recently, Fukushima. Their work is the visualisation of a society overtaken by data panic.
The Oude Markt will be the backdrop for a Grindcore Karaoke Bar and billboards, specifically designed for GOGBOT by Sekintani. Sekintani and Maruosa can be seen and heard during the opening night and on the Friday, when they finish the night program with a set of audiovisual terror, a show especially developed for the occasion.
